Autumn shoot

This is the kind of thing that goes on in my house…

I’ve made several autumn-fall inspired necklaces and thought it might be fun to do a little photo-shoot for them. Perhaps something with the lovely colours of autumn leaves? Now, my husband takes the pictures for my Etsy shop, and I mentioned my idea to him.

‘But I’ve just cleared the leaves in the garden’ he says.

So, off he goes (I didn’t make him, I swear!) hunting the local streets and picking up interesting leaves as he goes. In the rain. I mentioned that, right…? He brings them home, gallantly not mentioning how wet he was, washes the leaves in the bath, and carefully spreads them on a tray so that we could have them drying in the airing cupboard for 2 days…  wish I’d thought to take a picture of that, but I’m still getting used to sharing things with you and I didn’t.

However, here is a picture of the leaves when they came out of the airing cupboard. Pretty, huh?

Organising the photo displays was an art in itself, and we got lots of pictures. Unfortunately, my necklaces mimicked the autumn colours a bit too well and they didn’t show up in the pictures very clearly. Still, so that all of that effort doesn’t go to waste, I’ll share a couple of them with you.

This one shows them a bit clearer. And, in case you were wondering, yes, the piece of wood had been washed as well…

After we cleared away, the leaves got whisked off for some project my husband has planned, so I doubt I’ll ever see them again…

Some of the necklaces are featured at the top of my shop. At least you can see those pictures...

See you again soon!
