Thanks for all the fish

Hi all – I just wanted to thank everyone who is following me, my shops, social media, and, especially, this blog.

For various reasons I will be moving my blogging space over here, and I'd love it if you followed me over.

I still have my  Etsy shop, and now I also have one on Folksy where I sell more of my Boho, Steampunk, and festival jewellery. My Rose Bay Jewellery domain will take you to one of the aforementioned places as well.

Also. A quick reminder that I have Twitter and Instagram accounts if you would like to come along for the ride. Followers aren't expected to purchase jewellery (though I certainly won't say no if you want to!) it's just nice to have somebody to talk to - I get kind of lonely on my own...

Feel free to follow any of the above and if you just want to say hello, that's good too. I love knowing where my visitors have found me, and if it so happens you've been following me from some other project – from fan sites, for instance, I'd love to know that, too.

I shall look forward to meeting you!

New Website!

Here you are, as promised, is my brand-spanking-new website!

This website will largely showcase products that use brass, silk, ceramics, leather, and other quality fabrics and materials.

I still have work to do on the website, products to add, tweaking to do, but it is now ready for viewing.

I still have my Etsy shop, in case you are wondering, and that will continue to serve up quirky helpings of fun jewellery, so never fear! Two courses of Rosebay Jewellery! How tasty is that?

January and its cold

How's the new year treating you all? I hope you aren't affected by all this cold weather we're having. At least where I am its cold, but we have no snow (at the moment, anyway, though it is forecast) and I've seen reports of the awful weather some of you are having to cope with. I hope you and yours are keeping safe and warm.

With the shop to run, and having to make jewellery a season or two ahead of time, I should be thinking Spring/Summer now. I do struggle a bit to feel in mood for those halcyon summer days when its flipping freezing, or Christmas things in the blazing June, for that matter! I do, of course, still add to the stock if I get a whim for a summer necklace actually in summer, but in normal circumstances it is too late to go through the taking-pictures-and-listing process in time for you to be able to buy it at the right time!

However. I have made a lovely batch of lightweight acrylic summer necklaces, so here you go:

Also, a quick reminder, given how often I post (or don't, as the case may be) here - you can follow me on my other social media if you want to check that I haven't, you know, died.

I do post latest products there, obviously, but not just that. On Instagram I post local views (I use the hashtag #rosebaycountry for that) pets, the garden, silly vegetables or whatever else I fancy. On Twitter I retweet a lot of stuff, mostly anything fun, quirky, or interesting.  And for those that aren't aware, I am a closet Geek, so fandom stuff will often sneak in there, too...

Is is that long?

Is it that long since I've done a blog post?? Ack. Sorry, its been a busy time, but I haven't been slacking.

My Etsy shop has closed for Christmas, but will re-open afterwards, probably around Boxing Day (December 26)

I will have lots of amazing new stuff for you! I've been redesigning the shop look, sorting out what lines to keep or improve as well as making lots of new designs and ideas. In addition I've got a brand new website coming soon!

I hope you will all join me for the fabulous changes soon to be implemented, and in the meantime -

Merry Christmas – or Season's Greetings – to all of you.

Thank you all for your support and your custom, and I hope you will continue to stay with me. Oh, and don't forget that I do have Instagram and Twitter accounts if you need your Rose Bay fix in the meantime. I do actually post other things on them apart from my latest products!

Visiting Etsy

Are you trying to access my Etsy shop? Well, good luck with that. The site is there (currently!) and  you can see my products, but clicking on the images just gives you an error message. It's frustrating, as I'm trying to add my new Halloween range (yes, I know its summer. I'm pro-active!) and it won't let me do that.

Sigh.

Still here!

It seems that some of my product items over on Etsy have not been showing up. Something to do with the location settings, apparently. I didn't change anything so I suppose it must have been a glitch of some kind, but if you're in the UK, and you haven't been able to find me, this is why. Hopefully all is fixed again now, so feel free to browse as much as you want!

Oh, and thank you for looking!

White silk!

I have been busy making – and listing, and the new background design is starting to trickle through the shop. I really like it, and I think that not only does it look fresh, but it shows off the jewellery very well. I would like to get a new outfit for my display mannequins, too. Maybe a little dress for Polly (she shows off the necklaces) and a little T-shirt for Hannah (Earring display) as the poor thing is shirtless at the moment. Yes, I do name my display girls. Doesn't everyone?

As a bit of an upcoming taster, take a look at these lovely silk necklace pendants displayed on our new background. I'd love to know what you think!

In other news, we've had a very cold spell lately, with snow, and I include a picture of our wintery garden,

I also took possession of my new glasses today, and being able to see what I'm making will be very handy...
